“Um Pequeno Gesto, Uma Grande Ajuda (A small gesture a great help)” association
The "Um Pequeno Gesto, Uma Grande Ajuda"(“A small gesture a great help”) Association, is a non-governmental organisation of a humanitarian nature and has its interventions focused on the implementation of projects to support poverty, infrastructure, sanitation and water holes, and education among other areas of social interest.
In 2019 we joined this strategic partner to jointly develop a study support project at the Santa Luisa de Marillac School in Majangue, Chókwè district, Gaza province. This is an initiative whose main objective is to ensure that children and young people have habits and interest in their studies, thus preventing them from abandoning school early, especially at times when they are improving their academic performance.
This partnership in the education and human development sector has made it possible to:
- Support the learning process to improve the school performance of disadvantaged children and young people.
- Promote study habits and interest by preventing the most vulnerable students from dropping out of school.
- Alleviate daily child hunger, serving as an incentive to attend academic support and relieving the family budget.
Currently around 210 children attending the Santa Luisa de Marillac School benefit from this programme.
