This week, two more Moza Banco branches opened in Tete and Manica provinces, in the districts of Tsangano and Machaze, respectively, as part of the "One District One Bank" presidential initiative, which aims to improve the expansion of the banking network in the country by providing all districts with a financial institution where locals can find financial solutions that are appropriate to their specific needs of locals.

With these new branches, Moza is in line with local and sustainable development of communities, promoting financial inclusion and banking of the economy through the expansion of its activity to the Districts. Also within the scope of this initiative, Moza will soon open its branches in the districts of Derre and Ile in Zambézia.

Moza currently has the 3^rd largest network of branches in the country, comprising more than 68 Business Units spread throughout all provincial capitals and some Districts and Villages, thus reaffirming the condition of a truly universal bank in terms of coverage of the banking business spectrum and with strong national implementation.

Moza Banco recently joined its brand to honour the Mozambican musician Moisés Mandlate, who celebrated his hundredth birthday on February 4.  The tribute to the author of the popular song Elisa Uwé Gomara Saia was organized by Universidade Pedagógica de Maputo.

Several entities, in particular the former President of the Republic, Armando Guebuza, the Rector of Universidade Pedagógica de Maputo, Jorge Ferrão, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Moza Banco, João Figueredo, and the Portuguese Ambassador in Mozambique, Maria Amélia Paiva, were present at the ceremony to honour the Mozambican musician. The event, which was also attended by several Mozambican musicians, served to recognize the achievements of Moisés Mandlate, considered one of the pioneers of the Marrabenta musical style.

João Figueiredo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Moza Banco, said that Moisés Mandlate is an excellent musician, percussionist of a secular memory lined with the music and culture of the Mozambican people. ‘’This tribute makes perfect sense, not only because he is celebrating his hundredth birthday, but because he is one of the living legends whose contribution helped to promote marrabenta, our main musical rhythm in Mozambique and which represents our identity, not only in the country, but also in the world’’.

In turn, Armando Guebuza, the former President of the Republic, highlighted the best times he had with the musician Moises Mandlate.

"As we celebrate the life and work of our great friend Moises, the tendency is to think, to remember where he went through, where we all went through and how he managed to value the experience he had, in order to eternalize our history. History does not end, we have to do all that we can to preserve it and this is one way. So I would like to congratulate him, the Universidade Pedagógica de Maputo and Moza for this great initiative", said Armando Guebuza.

Moisés Mandlate did not hide his satisfaction for the tribute. In short, he expressed gratitude for this joint attitude of Universidade Pedagógica and Moza Banco.

It should be noted that Moza Banco also offered a check of MZN 100 Thousand Metical for his birthday celebration.

Moza Banco, the third largest branch network in Mozambique, recently signed an institutional and commercial cooperation protocol with the SEI Group - Sociedade de Ensino e Investigação. With this partnership, Moza intends to attract more Customers and Partners that will add commercial and transactional value to the institution, thus consolidating the Bank´s presence in the Mozambican market.

The good news was formalized a few days ago in Maputo, in the Opening Ceremony of the Academic Year 2020, at the Instituto Superior de Comunicação e Imagem de Moçambique (ISCIM). With the signing of this memorandum, the SEI Group shall now benefit from special conditions in the access to services and products offered by Moza to the national banking market such as opening of accounts for all companies that are part of the group, management of payment of salaries to the company´s staff and as well as manage the payment to suppliers of ISCIM and the SEI Group, support the treasury, financing, among other benefits.

Moza Banco undertakes to pay special conditions to SEI Group employees, promoting the opening of bank accounts, provision of co-branded students´ cards, include SEI Group students (ISCIM and IPCI) in Moza's Internship Programs, among other actions.

On the occasion, the General Director of ISCIM, Omar Naguib, mentioned the importance of this partnership, for the materialization of the objectives of Moza Banco, which include broadening the initiatives in planning and investment in education.

On turn, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Moza Banco, João Figueiredo, who had the honor of professing the opening ceremony of the Academic Year on the theme "Experiences that Transform", brought to the audience the best of his professional experience, alerting students about the challenges they will face in their training process and later in their professional life. He also highlighted the relational, commercial and transactional value that this partnership adds to both institutions, showing his satisfaction with the formalization of this partnership, given its importance in pursuing Moza Banco's objectives.

The winners of "Moza’s Cards" competition, a Moza Banco initiative aimed at encouraging the use of Moza Banco’s cards by its customers for transactions, are already known. The users of Moza Banco’s Cards benefit from a range of advantages that include convenience, privacy and security in all banking operations, easy access to the Bank products and services through a wide network of ATM and POS´ infrastructures, among others.

The winners are Carlos Augusto Mangore, Ibraimo Valá, da and Iassino Bhikha, who stood out as the Customers who made more transactions using Moza cards during the competition period and, therefore, the legitimate winners of a trip to one of the most luxurious tourist destinations in Mozambique, the paradisiacal islands of Bazaruto, the Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort.

We would like to remind you that this competition, which ended on December 31^st, was launched on October 1^st, in order to "cherish" Customers who made more transactions using Moza’s Cards.

Moza Banco opened today its branch in Chigubo, by the way, the first bank branch the district located in the north of Gaza Province. It is expected that this branch will serve approximately 20,000 locals; therefore, alleviating the suffering of the general population, including small traders, public employees and state agents, who had to travel long distances, incurring risks either on their way to the banks from the villages or vice-versa.

The opening of this branch is part of the presidential initiative "One District One Bank", which aims to increase the expansion of the banking network in the country, providing all districts with a financial institution where locals can find financial solutions that are appropriate to their specific needs.

Thus, Moza Banco is in line with the local and sustainable development of communities, promoting the financial inclusion and banking of the economy through the expansion of its activity to the Districts. Also within the scope of this initiative, it is planned to open 2 more branches in the districts of Guijá and Chibuto, also in Gaza Province.

With the entry into operation of these branches, the number of Moza's Business Units rises to 66, reinforcing the Bank's position as the 3^rd largest branch network in the country.
